Portuguese is a beautiful language from a country with a rich history, including seafarers who sailed the globe.  As a result, Portuguese is now spoken by over 220 million people worldwide. Whether you plan to visit a Portuguese-speaking country for business or holiday, want to learn the language of your ancestors, or simply enjoy the pleasure  learning a new language, my goal is to help you achieve your desired level of fluency.

I teach European Portuguese classes online, one-on-one, using free video-conferencing software, such as skype. During the lesson we can see and hear each other - almost as if we're together in a Portuguese café.  The only thing missing is the aroma of the coffee!

Lessons using this format offer advantages over typical in-person instruction. With online lessons you can learn from a native speaker living in Portugal, yet study from the comfort of your office or home, at a time convenient for you.

I offer instruction at all levels and will work closely with you  to tailor the lessons to your professional, academic, or personal goals.  All classes include time for speaking and listening, as well as written exercises using  textbooks that can be ordered online. Portuguese culture and history are interwoven into the curriculum.
